If a non-runner is declared, it means that a selection will not be participating in the event.
The settlement process will depend on the type of bet that you placed.
Singles
If your selection is a non-runner, your bet is made void, and your stake is returned. However, the definition of a non-runner can vary by sport.
For example:
Horse Racing – A horse is a non-runner if it does not come under starter's orders, meaning it did not participate in the race at all. More details can be found in our Horse Racing Rules.
Motor Racing - In Formula 1, a car that breaks down on the start line is not classified as a non-starter; it is only considered a non-starter if it does not complete the formation lap. More details can be found in our Formula 1 Rules.
Team Sports (e.g., Football, Basketball) - For player-specific markets (such as 'First Goalscorer' or 'Anytime Goalscorer'), if the player does not take part in the match, the selection is void. If the player participates in the match, the bet stands.
Golf and Tennis - If a player withdraws before the start of the match or tournament, the selection is void. If a player retires during the match or tournament, the bet is settled in accordance with our specific sport rules.
Multiples
For bets such as Accumulators, if a selection is a non-runner, that selection is marked as void. However, your bet still stands and is settled on the remaining selections within the multiple.
For example, in a Treble, if one selection is a non-runner, the bet becomes a Double.
